Why Early Access?

“We have hit a point in development where we have a very solid idea of what Astral Gunners is, and what it is going to be. The key elements are in the game, and we are now looking to work with the Steam community to finish the game with the features that matter most to players along with a game that is well balanced.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“With our current plan, the game will be in early access for roughly 9 months. That being said, this game is being developed by only two people and many things can change over time. We will make sure to communicate any delays and keep players updated as we change the game.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The core arcade experience exists in the early access version of the game, although it is missing a couple levels intended to flesh out the structure of the game. Levels have been developed in chronological order, meaning there is currently no epic final boss battle. All of the characters meant to be in the final game are finished, although we have a few ideas for unlockable characters that we may want to test out in early access. We are looking to work with the community on additional modes and features that would make the game feel more complete, as well as any quality of life features we overlooked.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The early access version currently has:

-5 characters
-5 levels
-4 bonus stages
-A deep and satisfying scoring system
-A credit-unlocking progression system designed to ease newcomers into the intense gameplay
-A wide variety of secrets on each level that can change the strategy of how you choose the order you play levels in
-Local co-op”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The pricing plan is to keep the price the same during the entire early access period, and increase it on full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will be checking the Steam forums for any feedback from players and working together with players to implement the ideas that are possible. We cannot make any promises that every feature request will be added, but if someone has a great idea that is possible to implement and fits with the core vision of Astral Gunners we will definitely add said features. Additionally, there are specific features we know we will include that are partially developed that we will start discussions about to help guide these features in the direction that players want.”
